that's one of the really interesting bits about the local "rules"
the state has a mandate which remains in effect but the local government chose to conditionally play along. Their last vote extended it to today's date which at the time was the stated expiration of the state mandate. the language the local governing body chose to utilize cited the date rather than recognizing "the end of the state mandate" with the caveat that it would expire on the date (6 minutes) if it wasn't renewed prior.
so the local news is all going off the state mandate (which clearly delegates the actual decision to local bodies) but the local governing body chose not to vote on renewing their order. many of the locals won't know they're free. in fact I'd wager MOST of them won't get it until the local goats show them.
good news is that at least 4 halfway well-known goats are local and have a plan to share the info. Who knows. maybe we'll make national news!
