I really liked Game of Thrones, but I will admit there is nothing particularly stunning about it. It has high production value and a plot line that is at least sometimes unexpected or imaginative. Having said that, I have watched breaking bad and I am sure it is good for the same reasons, I just prefer the fantasy setting of GOT over the gritty noire-esque modern setting of BB. Neither show is so amazing though, and there's nothing on TV I would consider incredible. It's all lowest denominator crappola which is why I appreciate the Scooby Doo original series. Nobody pretended (including the artists) that is was anything but the terrible cartoon it is. It doesn't masquerade. I also appreciate Tom Green,Wonder Showzen and Tim and Eric. Terrible TV for people who know that all TV is bad to begin with.

Never read any of the books, only saw some of the show. I couldn't get into it, just didn't find it interesting, only managed to get through a couple of episodes and only managed those because I was stuck in a hotel with garbage choices on the PPV. I found myself looking at how it was shot and edited rather than paying attention to the plot or relating to the characters.

I really enjoy it but I won't bash people for not liking the show. I also have read almost all the books (currently on the last one thats published ATM)

Absolutely love the books, cannot stand the direction the show has been taking post-season 1.

I have not seen the show, and I only know what maybe 2 or 3 of the characters look like. I intentionally avoid it because seeing how other people picture characters and events in books messes with the perception in my head, and that irritates me.
