Upvoated because I've never heard this before, and need to look into it further.

That article is pretty good, I'd recommend it.

The skinny is that white people are pretty good at looking after themselves and their community if left alone and allowed to do so. We don't need massive government programs.

True. We need to get back to this

that's weird he would be against fraternat orginizations while being a freemason andm ember of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows

White society at the time was heavily organised by fraternal societies, and had been since the medieval guild system. So in order to get anywhere in politics you had to be a member of one or another whether you approved of them or not.

Great post and information. I cringe when i hear POTUS promising government will provide healthcare.

Things have gotten pretty bad when that's considered a conservative victory.

Your reply was well worth the ask--thanks!

No problem.

These fraternal societies you describe sound an awful lot like trade unions.

[–] Broc_Lia 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

They were some of the predecessors of trade unions. Trade unions are inferior in that:

  • Governments protect them from competition, so instead of being replaced when they become corrupt the corruption just builds up. Fraternal societies had to work to retain their membership and were easily replaceable by the communities they served if they became unfit for their stated purpose.

  • Fraternal societies were primarily organised along community and racial lines allowing for high-trust networks to be built. By contrast trade unions are organised primarily along kike political lines and mostly function as a bludgeon for them to control economies.
