I was 21 and drinking at my local bar with some friends, decided to go with the bouncer (a huge biker dude also my friend) and another guy to another bar that was open a bit later when our bar was closing.

He ends up driving for like 45 minutes to some shit hole biker bar that I don't even think was licensed as a business, people were just doing lines on the tables, smoking bowls, meth whatever, nazi and zz logo's everywhere, fucking crazy.

Pretty much stuck close to that dude for the whole night and as he was my ride and I was drunk and had no idea where I was, I was a white dude dressed in khaki's with a dress shirt surrounded by mostly criminal biker nazi's.

Met some pretty interesting people, never again went with someone to a random bar after hours.

Yeah I have attempted suicide more times than I can remember but only 3 or so times were I actually thought I would die.

And there was one time I fell off a horse and my foot got caught in the stirrup, the horse kept running while I was being dragged along. If I had not worn a helmet and kept rolling outwards the horse would most likely have stepped on/kicked my head at some point.

I've been there my friend, but I'm alive and I'm glad I never actually died. My highly trained brain can tell that you're alive as well (or was 3 hours ago anyway..) and I just wanted to tell you that I hope you're well. It doesn't mean anything to you, but shit does get better. Then it gets worse again, then it gets better. Then it doesn't get better but you learn to live with it and in time shit feels okay again and you start feeling good and everything gets better. On repeat.

I just hope that you're well and I wish you luck and happiness in your life, send me a PM if you ever feel the need to <3

60 miles offshore, small 30 foot sailboat, big fucking storm. Genuine shit your pants scared. Was 100% certain I wouldn't live through the night. Couldn't do much besides white knuckle it and see it through.

Oh yes. Once flying from Washington to Miami, on a mostly empty flight, other passengers and I started to fell a very strong smell of burning. Some people said it smelt of plastic burning, but to me it smelt like paper burning. We called the attendants and they shut off all entertainment devices and lights, leaving only the flood lights in the ceiling of the cabin. The pilot came to the main cabin and looked around, talked to one of the attendants and just headed back to the cockpit. At the moment I wasn't very scared because I was concerned with some other stuff. But after we landed safely everybody cheered and it came to me something bad could have happened. But I am glad it did not :)

Silly me tried to prove to the world I was driving a fast car when it was just a beat up, old corolla. I was in the rightmost lane, the other car was to my left. A parked car almost ended it all. Either the guy I was racing backed off or I finally eked out enough of a lead, either way, I managed to do a quick lane change to the left and got out of what could've been my death. I think it was the former.

I don't like to think about it too much, it highlights how little control I have over my stupidity.

It never occurred to me to step on the brakes.

I got caught right next to a tornado with my girlfriend about 5 years ago. We were driving and the hail was so huge that it started to crack my windshield. The tornado ripped the roof off of a giant auto arena we have in our city and the whole time I was trying to drive past it my girlfriend was begging me to turn around. We did get turned around and made it to a friends house that wasn't far from where we were. The hail was enormous and the streets were flooded with water so bad that I didn't know if my car was even gonna make it. We held hands, prayed, and made it through the storm together.
