Reading this article I find it interesting that there are so many government employees involved. Code enforcement officer is my favorite. An individual for who's salary my money is taken in order for him to tell me when I need to mow my grass and what I need to do with my private property.

Is anyone surprised that everyone who lives from taxing society is against a means of doing business that doesn't pay those taxes? Airbnb should do what Amazon did. If they offer to start charging and paying taxes out of their system I bet they could get the regulators to back off on the permit side.

This is just a silly stance for a city to take. People who use AirBNB are people who are trying to save money and probably wouldn't stay in a hotel. If you want to increase tourism that's who you want to invite to your city.
