Back in my day, we didn't have trolls

[–] blumen4alles ago

Cause you beat them. Trolls deserve a good beating so they will get back in their hole or under their bridge.

[–] Enok-Stroth ago

Yeah? At least you are consistent on your stances. I respectfully disagree with your stance though.

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Sounds like you didn't get enough beatings as a child. They would have taught you respect.

[–] Enok-Stroth ago

You think so. Sounds like you and your troll game is consistent.

I learned respect through losing the respect of others.

How does beating your kid (acting like a nigger) help them learn respect?

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

It just works. Its how I learned respect, how I taught my kids and students to respect me, and how they taught their kids respect.

[–] H3r0n ago

“It just works” ok Todd Howard.

All joking aside when people say “it just works” it typically doesn’t and they are conflating fact with their opinion. My dad would hit me, my mother would make a huge deal out of it. My mother would emotionally abuse me, my father did nothing about it.

I’m not going to fall into the same cycle, but my kids will have a healthy relationship with respect regardless.

If you have to hit them, you’ve already let it get out of hand.

I still flinch around my mom, she spanked the shit out of me, and punched me, stabbed me with forks when I didnt mind my table manners, etc... The difference between myself and others is that I can "dress as the Romans" as the situation demands, becuase I have a solid grasp of acceptable vs not acceptable behaviors. Though as with any parent, some things were intolerable, but overall I find that my strict upbringing has helped me overall, however coming from a strict upbringing to a liberal public caused me to run wild once left to my own devices.

Proverbs 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Rod? I just use my belt, and my cane, and my whip.

[–] Not_a_redfugee ago

Why?

[–] CryptoBard 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Tomorrows kids won't fear the belt, they'll fear an ethernet whip

[–] Phantom42 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

You have been whipped with the power of the internet.

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

That's what a ethernet whip is? I just use an actual whip.

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

It teaches them respect

[–] FridayJones 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

I think they're already too fat, so fewer eggs, not more.

[–] CrankyOldMan655 [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

A beating will solve it

[–] FridayJones 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

It will definitely make the eggs fluffier.
