I have never had an eating disorder but there's a couple of reasons I can think of - they don't seem to understand the difference between moderate calorie control and becoming obsessed over calories. To them any form of calorie counting or calorie restriction is the exact same thing as having a panic attack over eating one walnut. Two, they have warped body image. Just like a person with anorexia might feel fat at bmi 18-20 fats will look at someone of the same weight and see an emaciated skeleton. So if they were ever somewhat in shape at any point in their lives they claim they used to be too thin.

Its because of their grade school understanding of anorexia. They think not eating for the 8 hours they sleep is starving themselves, and starving yourself is the ONLY symptom. They don't take into consideration the BMI requirements for the medical diagnosis, or even the most common actions like obsessive calorie counting or abusive exercise routines. They think not eating that big Mac will tank their sugars the same way an anorexic will pass put after their 6th day of fasting.

What I love when they claim anorexia is that they're admitting that you can be too thin... but they freak the fuck put when you ask them why they can't be too fat.

Fat people are stupid, which is why they are fat. Excess fat also makes you even dumber. So, at some point, they forget the meanings of words; i.e. sexy, curvy, plenty, enough, full, anorexic, cute, etc.
