if you want a bump helmet buy a skateboard helmet for 20 bucks and spraypaint it tan or whatever your sheriff uses

if you want actual modern combat helmet go pay a grand

those are the two choices i see

ive spent two grand on a helmet for work and let me tell you

its styrofoam inside a kevlar shell

just buy the skateboard helmet for 20 bucks

Glownigger confirmed. Ha just kidding.

Is Kevlar better at absorbing impacts, or is it for a ballistic rating?

I think the Kevlar shell is anti abrasion and toughness, to protect the vital Styrofoam from the little everyday bonks, and more specifically to guard against punctures into your skull during impact.

This is a flying helmet and probably offers basically zero protection against firearms.

More detail.
