It'd be nice to have a router CNC, I just can't justify the cost for what you get. Does anyone have any experience with a cheaper one?

Not my video. I was looking at wooden escapement mechanisms. One (wooden) clock making video told the tale of the maker using a cheap CNC gadget and having three tries at cutting an escape wheel. None of them were accurate enough. Eventually he printed out a paper template, glued it to his plywood and cut it manually with a scroll saw. I thought "I could do that!".

I've also been looking at mechanical logic gates. http://alan.sdf-eu.org/linkage-logic/index.html http://alan.sdf-eu.org/tilt-line-first-try.html

I've been checking my calculations with cardboard models, cut with scissors. Woodworking will be an upgrade.
