Jesus states very directly not only to NOT pray in public, but he also does say to go into your private room with door shut to pray to your father in secret.
So you can't just say that he meant not to make a gloating spectacle but to otherwise do pray in public. He said absolutely don't and then described the propper conditions which would be to pray in secret.
The point is to pray in secret only.
Mathew 6:5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites
are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and
in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.
Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mathew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy
closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray
to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father
which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
So according to scripture if people are being shamed for praying publicly they are recieving their reward
It's very typical for Christians to pray in public even though it is clearly against the commandments of Christ to do so.
But that is no surprise. Christians are only Christians by name but in fact are not followers of Christ.
First of all Christ is again very clear that there are requirents to call yourself a Christian
Jesus says in Luke 14:33 hat whoever does not give everything they have away to follow him can not callthemselves his disciples. He repeats the command to drop out of the system repeatedly. That is the bulk of what he can be quoted as saying is about; renouncing the world entirely.
He also says that if you do not live a faith based existence but instead you pursue money to live on then your God is not the true God but is instead the god of money, Mammon.
So Christ teaching was rejected and the path he layed out was rejected . Instead they worship mammon and follow the dualistic teachings of the self appointed apostle Paul. Although much of Paul's teaching and works contradicts Christ's teaching and so do his works, but still Christians tell you Jesus didn't mean what he said, and then they quote Paul as though that overrides Christ. Christ did not even appoint Paul like he specificly appointed the 12 actual apostles of Christ.
So ridiculous. As if God is going to send his only begotten son who he himself called his messenger appointed to deliver God's only message, but then 30 years after killing the messenger (whose message they reject to to this very day) some guy comes along who was a persecutor of real Christians, to tell the Christians that he's second in charge and calling the shots to deliver the new message and then proceeds to stop them from following the true Christ.
That's essentially what happened. A persecutor of Christians destroyed the message that Christ delivered and superimposed his own message that he Romans found much easier to manipulate the people with.
So no surprise, but guess who contradicted Christ's direct message from God to say to go ahead and pray in public? Paul, the self appointed apostle to God.
I guess God thought he screwed up sending his son Jesus so shortly after sent Paul to clear up the mistakes his son the Messiah made? Is that the idea behind Christianity?

Youre putting all kinds of words in my mouth abouty beliefs about Daniel, but your right. We have two different beliefs because you believe someone who contradicts the teachings of Christ is a ruptured that overrides the gospel that Christ delivered.
I believe in Christ.

There are lots of examples of Jesus giving a sermon, or delivering a prophecy where he speaks to, praises, or gives thanks to God, but I wouldn't call that praying. When someone utters "Thank you Jesus/thank God!" In passing I do not think of that as prayer.
The example we have of him really praying is in the garden of Gethsemane where he walks a "stone's throw away" from his apostles to earnestly plead with God in privacy.
