Do you think that anyone thought like you are now during the 1918 Pandemic? Or any previous Pandemic.

Or did they just think "oh it's another virus, they appear naturally every 10-20 years, let's try and mitigate the spread by whichever means possible..."

The only thing that has changed in the meantime is the appearance of social media and the rise of the uninformed political pundit.

1918 can't be compared. The media were not such a problem back then. Also you got to take into account that it was right at the end of 4 years of war that took their toll on peoples and infrastructure as well.

Despite this, there was no psychotic response of quarantining the healthy back then. Life had to carry on! In some regard they were even smarter than us now as they quicky figured out that sunlight and fresh air was good! Meanwhile a century later we get powertripping "authoritah" fining or arresting people out alone to get some sun and fresh air in park or on beach. Hell some nitwit in Commiefornia even went after a guy out paddleboarding by himself in the freaking ocean!

The modern reaction to thing that are part of life is just insane now. Personally, i believe it stem from the desire of control the left has, their unhinged ideology is the problem. Like it or not, there is definitely a political agenda behind all this. They know they are fighting a losing battle and thus now apply some sort of scorched earth policy. If they can't have it then burn it so nobody can!

Also, in a funny way their obsessive desire for control remind me of animals trials in the middle age. Like if summoning mice and insect to court is gonna stop em from eating the harvest...

" there was no psychotic response of quarantining the healthy back then" - simply because there was no other option?

If you believe that the people with no symptoms were staying home then this should have been over in 2 weeks, clearly either people are ignoring this and going out to cough over everyone, or asymptomatic transmission is maybe a bit more common than we thought.

I think that if infected people are going out then they should wear masks, that should help limit them from spreading it more than they otherwise would. As everyone is an arsehole and would lie about being infected, then everyone has to wear them.

Given that the infection rate is now increasing again, what's your plan?
