I guess we have a philosophical difference about what is "news". In light of the recent black lives matter movement I figured the presentation of data to the controversy without commentary or additional opinion would be useful in conjunction with other posts in v/news. Maybe it would be more suited to the comments section of a recent news article on black violence rather than the headliner. What's your opinion on the presentation of data relevant to supplement other current headlines?
It isn't that this isn't news, it is news. The problem with this is the date, not the content. It would be better in the comments section of an article if it is on topic. I think it would be a great supplement. If you find anything on the BJS site with a more recent date it can be submitted as a submission.

This is the most recent homicide data from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (and yes, it's a real government agency). The most recent CDC Death and Mortality data is also from 2013. Please share newer data if it exists.

And 93% of these murders were committed by other black males.
