"Just In Time" logistics can bite you in the ass, that's why it's advisable to stockpile essential items. My last job before I retired was assembling and testing electronic gizmos. If we were going to build say 10 systems the next week, they would only order the required components for 10 to be delivered on Monday morning. If the truck was late, or not all the components were included the bosses would panic. They never seemed to be able to justify keeping some stock on hand.
