Aside from the possibility of being locked out by the caretakers, the big question is whether or not the legal tenants could even get there. In the kind of catastrophes they’re planning for airlines would be the first thing to shut down. Travelling half way across the US would take months of navigating blocked roads and bandits.
Watch No Blade of Grass to get an idea of how fast a pandemic can change from big news to total chaos. Nuclear missiles and volcanoes give you even less notice.

Ha, the rich are just paying to upkeep the property. If shit ever did hit the fan they would be left standing outside while our tour guide, his security, and their families made themselves comfortable.

I read a similar criticism of Finca Bayano. It’s a safe haven for Europeans worried about economic collapse. Someone said if there were a global economic collapse the locals would immediately storm and loot the rich, white, foreigners’ settlement.
