He tried. Too much, too early. He and Patton were right.

The first man to start a movement is typically mocked.

Are we all ready to be in the second generation? We will be mocked worse than for Q.

History is written by the victors. So...consider that when you think about how badly McCarthy is slandered...and how we will be remembered, if we win.

If we don't, we'll all be killed and erased from history, so I wouldn't worry overmuch about our reputations.

I was saying this in 1979 when Ronnie was running. Most people were SHOCKED! Now, they can eat their hats.

A scholarly book by two college professors of history "The Venona Papers" made quite a splash since the people who McCarthy indicated were USSR Agents-in-place, really WERE what he said they were. VENONA was a top secret project which decrypted the coded messages sent to US spies by the KGB, spanning years from around 1935 to 1945. I recommend reading the books, there are two volumes and comparing what you read to research on what exactly McCarthy said (see the Congressional Record).

Been wondering about McCarthy ever since I started wondering about Hitler.

Heroes are villains and villains are heroes.

While I firmly believe that the nazis are over villainized about their response to the jews... AThere is also no denying the fact the Germans chose to aggressively invade and the brutally abuse all of Europe. By all accounts the Germans were NOT nice to the locals in places they "annexed." And they had a horrible reputation for not taking any soviets prisoner, mowing down all surrenders with as much brutality as the japs did to any surrendered Americans.
