What do you think Jon Stewart has been all these years?
[–] wolfsktaag 3 points 5 points 8 points (+8|-3) ago (edited ago)
a propaganda tool of the democrat establishment?

Can't have a real circus without a few clowns.

And an elephant (Christie).
And a bear that does tricks (hmm...not sure who this is)

Politifact says that Trump donated $10,000 to Scott Walker's gubernatorial campaign and $500 to Jeb Bush.
Donald Trump says he gave most of his debate opponents campaign money. He didn’t.

Edit: due to all the streams of dark money going to politicians, they don't know who is supporting them and who isn't.
That's not true. When a small group of people contribute 99% of the funds in a PAC, setup the PAC, announce that they are doing that, have conversations with the candidate that they are doing it - it's no secret.
[–] oowensby 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
It depends on how the PAC is chartered. The ones that spend all they have after operating expenses on electioneering and ads have to disclose their donors. The groups that don't have to disclose their donors have to spend half their proceeds on educational and cultural endeavors.

With the implication that he has Hillary bought and paid for, as he forced her to come to his wedding.

I'd note that she's been mum about all this so far, which is pretty damning as I see it.

They have nothing to say to this point. It shows them all up. Trump has been mentioning it a lot and he needs to continue hammering it home whenever he gets the chance. Lobbying is one of the most destructive things to a democratic system.

Trumps campaign slogan should be "Even if I lose, I'll buy a winner"
[–] PM_ME_YOUR_BOOBS2 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
But if he is currently benefitting from said system why would he want to change if? I've rarely ever seen someone smart act against their own interest. So why does Trump want to change the system? This is what I can't figure out.

My guess is, Trump is the kind of guy who likes leading and likes being the center of things. He dominated American business, now he's bored of that and wants to dominate American politics.
