Well I knew about bananas not being able to naturally propagate on thier own any it's but oranges too?! Also I don't know what radiometric dating is, is that the same as carbon dating? Apparently carbon dating is not accurate

You would be surprised at the amount of agriculture which does not exist naturally and which plants would go extinct if humanity suddenly ceased to exist.

Carbon dating is only a single type of radiometric dating which is used for organic items within a specific time frame. Outside of that time frame, carbon dating doesn't produce accurate results.

Other radiometric dating methods exist relying on other radioactive isotopes which produce accurate results at much greater time spans. This is simply due to radioactive decay of those isotopes, where, and what those isotopes are found in.

It's situation of using the right tool for the right job.

Makes sense as far as the dating. If you know how long something takes to break down under different conditions I can see it being a useful tool.
