I'm not surprised. They make low quality guns at high prices and they haven't innovated or listened to consumer demand for too long. The only thing that kept them afloat was the 870 and 700 but even that can't save them given recent quality drops. It's a classic example of a larger entity taking over a company and completely mismanaging it. What a shame.

That pistol they keep resurrecting in 9mm or .380 is first class crap.

Pistol? I think you mean paperweight.

They bought Marlin which is probably the only thing keeping them afloat actually. But you're right, they are living in the past.

2020-06-26 | Gunmaker Remington preps for bankruptcy sale to Navajo Nation

'Remington and a representative for the Navajo Nation did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment. '

'Remington Arms, America’s oldest gun maker, is preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is in advanced talks for a potential sale to the Navajo Nation, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. '

'Remington had previously filed for bankruptcy protection in March 2018. '

'Remington is making preparations for the Native American tribe to serve as the lead bidder to purchase its assets out of Chapter 11, the Journal reported here, citing people familiar with the matter. '

'The company makes the Bushmaster AR-15-style rifle used in the Sandy Hook shooting that killed 20 first-graders in 2012. '

A First Nation owner of a firearms company. Interesting. I imagine they would be exempt from many laws.

Wasn't the last decent thing Remington tried to come up with the ACR? Seems to me anymore they just live off the 870 reputation.

I've heard the 700 was pretty cool.

Magpul designed the ACR, Remington built them for the military and Bushmaster built them for civilians.

The Indians where I live all have casinos. They built them with money from the Chinese. Do they have casinos?, whoever funded them owns them.

The communists divide and conquer. Ceding sovereignty as a part of "reparations" ends up turning the USA into swiss cheese. Suddenly, US rule of law no longer applies inside tribal land.
