I don't know if it's just me, but the idea of a crocheted bikini just sounds....bad. Doesn't yarn stretch even worse when wet? The thing would be too warm to wear outside of a pool, and getting it wet would turn it into a wardrobe malfunction nightmare. This is just a waste of material that could have been used for something wearable.

Talk to women over 60.
I used to laugh at pictures and tales from my nan and other older people about the horrors of knitted swim wear from when they were young.

I feel bad for all the women who went swimming before spandex was invented

It looks like the cheapest shittiest acrylic yarn. That stuff doesn't stretch, it weighs a million pounds when it's wet, and isn't breathable at all. The worst combination of things to make swimwear out of. For comparison, I bought a pair of actual swim tights to wear doing laps before my gym shut down and even those tended to make me feel sluggish and awkward.

She didn't wear this to the beach. She doesn't go to the beach because she is ashamed. All of this work was for social media because her little echo chamber is the only bubble where she isn't ridiculed.

If you're gonna crochet something for the beach, be a normal person and make a tote bag or a blanket to sit on? This is gross beyond the fatness
