The fine print...

Doesn't take effect until next January. Hospitals face fines up to $300 a day if they don’t publicize negotiated rates.

Monitoring, Enforcement, and Appeals (45 C.F.R. §§ 180.70-180.110)

If CMS concludes that a hospital is noncompliant with one or more of these requirements, CMS

may provide a written warning notice, request a corrective action plan, or impose a civil

monetary penalty of up to $300 per day and publicize the penalty on a CMS website.

Not much of a deterrent!

‘ The AHA argued that the rule infringed on the First Amendment rights of hospitals and insurers and that the Department of Health and Human Services was overstepping its authority.’

Exactly. A very small fee... they will disclose nothing.

Good , now next big pharma. Release the cures! They have them , they just don't want the general public knowing about them. They are most definitely keeping them from us.
