Drink a glass of water for every beer/shot you have, then if I'm still hungover, then it's starchy foods (waffles, pancakes, stuff like that) and a little hair o' the dog that bit ya.

I'm old, and spent my 20's and early 30's being a functional alcoholic. Often times I would be out till 2-3 am, and be required to show up at work at 9 am. It hurt. I found drinking copious amounts of water before passing out to REALLY help. In the morning, I would indulge in a Gatorade and the usual coffee, along with a large breakfast that was high in protein, steak and eggs were my favorite. There is some science to my cure too, here is an article talking about the benefits of protein after a night of binge drinking.
