The Moon does rotate, one full rotation every 28 days. That happens to coincide with its orbital period, in a condition known as "tide-locked."

Amazing coincidence it’s about the same size as the Sun from Earth.

I’ve heard ‘Spaceship Moon’ theories. I recall a claim that seismically it rings like a metallic shell.
