This concept used to scare me but I concluded that they already have us sorted into categories anyway. Avoiding conversations and keeping quiet isn't going to change their minds. The last thing they want is for us to share information but there is no reward for those who do what they want them to do.

I'm an IT guy. One day while troubleshooting a routine issue I captured evidence of NSA capturing all our data (encrypted) between our headquarters and one of our European locations. I showed it to my boss, just to be transparent. She was SHOCKED and asked if there was anything we could do. I laughed and said no, just understand that this is happening. We all knew it was but I never dreamed I'd get actual proof.

I’d expect the NSA could cut through standard encryption rates like butter (which is probably why they’re the standard. You’d probably have to ramp it up 100 fold before it starts giving them them trouble.

They did, there was absolutely no delay whatsoever. The only way I knew they were in the middle of our tunnel is their equipment replied to a trace route (with a 6.x.x.x address). Someone forgot to turn off ICMP on their equipment.....ooooops. They did eventually disable ICMP though.

Working in IT in Europe, I know what you mean.

I worked in the past for an ISP that proxied ALL European customers through a New York proxy. That was the most blatant things I ever saw.

What was the proof?

How did you know it was NSA?

Was it hardware?

This is what Westworld the TV show is about.

They provide all of these wonderful electronic devices to us, but the data they glean from doing so enables them to... what?

Learn about our personalities?

Copy them?

Predict what they would do under certain circumstances?

Any circumstance?

I felt the same way for a long time. But I stopped caring. Luckily for me I'm such an insignifcant spec on the wall the I'm below the radar.

then those simple security questions are used for your favorite passwords, also multiple sites security questions are run by a few companies that get one piece of data from you, you thinking its safe. BUT they put them all together from multiple sites. birthday, city born, parents, moms maiden name, etc.....

That is why you NEVER, NEVER use real information.

Sometimes you can't avoid using real data, especially when dealing with commercial and administrative entities.

But for the rest of it, including social media, yes, no real info.

IDGAF what they think of me. I'm more dangerous out in the open than I am as an Anon, in my particular case. I present a very serious problem for [them].
