Off another post...Many Americans are surprised at the sudden, coordinated demand to "De-Fund the Police". The protests started with the pretext of police brutality but now the underlying end-goal that this movement was building up towards is in clear view.
The real reason behind this is to replace the police with their own version of armed 'protection' - who will enforce a different set of laws.
The Police in America (or any republic) are an important element that enforce the laws of the republic. With the police gone, every 'community' will have an excuse to implement their own law-enforcement troops. When this happens:
it will fracture the law enforcement into thousands of local pockets that operate on different principles
it will make it impossible to have a uniform, national standard to enforce law
it opens the door for 'communities' to create their own militia in the name of "community policing". e.g. Muslims and Sharia, Blacks and Dindu-laws, Jews and Israeli Police
"De-fund the police" is nothing but a direct attack on American principles and their ability to hold our civil society together.

Police are not a part of a republic at all full stop, let alone an important one. They are the descendants of company town goon squads. Invented by the pinkerton agency. Incompatible absolutely with citizens freedom.

These people should be careful what they wish for. Corporations and the rich would be fine since they'd hire private security firms made up of ex-cops and use other means of social control like data mining and surveillance.

I want to see only sheriffs but it's funny that communities surviving on grants and aid money alone, paying no taxes and owning no property, are suddenly so interested in budget appropriations. Motherfuckers shouldnt even be in the room when the money is discussed.
