As an old woman in Oklahoma, I've never felt the need to have a gun; however, I just sent an email to a friend who is former special forces to see what kind to buy and where to train. If they come for my stuff, they're not gonna take it easily! God bless and protect all Patriots and our men and women in uniform, and of course, all Anons that keep us up to date on crumbs!

I recommend a revolver and a shotgun for home protection. The revolver (i.e. .38 special or .357) are virtually foolproof and ultra-reliable. If you get a new one, then I recommend taking it to a gunsmith to have the trigger adjusted for your person. That is the downfall of the revolver... it can be a bit hard for petite or older ladies to pull the trigger, but this can be adjusted. (Use hollow point rounds for better stopping power)

Agree on both points but fitting a well functioning light and night sights is also critical as likely any home defense scenario will occur at night. A good quality semi auto pistol is easier to fit both.
And practice as soon as possible with a pistol. It’s definitely a muscle memory thing
Dude, we don't know how "old" this "old woman" is. She's never owned a gun and you start at shotgun and .357? Thankfully she has a former special forces friend to help her, because this is not good advice. Who knows? Maybe she's worked a ranch all her life and could brush off 3" slugs like they aren't shit, but those are your recommendations for an old first-timer? Come on. Revolver isn't a bad recommendation, since loading mags might be difficult for an "old woman's" fingers.

Second that on the .38 special. Got a small wife and she has no problem.
Excellent choice in my opinion...

Don't get the 357 someone suggested below. Entirely inappropriate for an old woman. I'm sure your friend will give you appropriate advice but you don't want a heavy load like that in a handgun unless you can handle it.

I’ve been preparing for years. I may not be completely “homesteading” level of self sufficiency but we are stocked for an extended event. I top off from time to time and rotate stuff out but we’re good.
It’ll be rough for those getting started now. Already behind the curve and still dealing with Rona shortages.

Yeah. That is one thing I can say GOOD about Obama's term as president. We became preppers! LOL.

Same here, we have a couple years of food & supplies. We live out in the woods on 100 acres and the only line going into my house is the power line. We could be more self sufficient if we didn't work so much, but if S where to HTF, I think we can manage. We have good neighbors (mostly) and can work together.

POTUS and 'Q' have been telling us for several years now to be prepared, that a Storm was coming. Yeah, do what you can now to get prepared but you should have done that long ago.
Maybe it's different here on the Gulf Coast, hurricanes teach us all to be prepared for storms. The coming Storm, which is already upon us, is different but the same in some ways.
No cops, no services, not much Society out there to help you, got to take care of your self.
Expect to lose utilities and cell phone services at times, expect to lose the internet temporarily, expect to see supply chains even more interrupted, and expect to see military if you are in a blue area. You may lose water and power and all comms, have food and water and all necessary supplies to last for weeks, at least a month.
Have plans for every contingency you can imagine. If you have strength and your neighbors need some, lend it. If you need help ask, others will lend you strength. If you look around and don't see a Leader BECOME that leader, don't be afraid to exert common sense in the coming emergency.
Usual hurricane survival mode for many of us, y'all better get ready.
It is difficult to find firearms and ammo just now, again POTUS has warned us for a long time this was coming, good luck. But ask friends/neighbors, maybe someone can share. Many people have several and will offer you one, that adds more firepower to our hoods/communities. Before the last boat wreck I had enough to loan a few folks, jes sayin'.
Pray for Humanity, People.

Thanks Covfefe. Another reason I posted is that some preppers may need to restock food (and other perishable) supplies. If they are anything like me, I didn't try to stay stocked up during the FAKEdemic, I used some of my existing supplies. Get back up to 100% anons, shit hitting fan now. (Martial Law next for D cities?)

Stock up if/while you can... Ice Age Farmer's newest video 100% Farm Workers have Covid!? Forces Behind Riots Engineering Food Shortages Next is worth the watch.
What they did to the meat supply will now be happening with veggies. They will be forcing more food shortages leading up to the election (and "2nd wave" of the china flu). If you can buy non-perishable food now, do it! Food prices will only be going up and food will be harder to find.

We had to buy ammo online yesterday as Bass Pro and Academy were completely out. You're right. Good to make a grocery run.
