JMHO but the idea of punishing people for things they did not do - is wrong. Lets punish people for their actions, not those of some distant ancestor, or even a living relative. If we apply this standard then every human on earth is guilty.
Do you feel the same about genocides committed by the USSR, PR China, Turkey - etc. ?
In the West there is a myopic view that only Germany has committed war crimes. Color this photo and put some guy in a black mask in front and it could be ISIS propaganda from yesterday.
Punishing people for what a dead relative did generations ago, or even trying to hold them collectively responsible is morally wrong.
JMHO.

Small correction and further info - the victims were people detained in the Coroneo jail, among them some women and killed in Ghega street. They were not only Italians as the area of Triest is mixed. 14 were from Pivka - it's safe to presume they were Slovenian. As for the above comment - Germany has acknowledged it's horrible mistakes while Italy never accepted the fact that the fascist and Italian military were also ruthless murders.

Thanks - appreciate your clarifications. One of the best things about sharing images in this sub is someone always knows more and can illuminate the context in which the image was taken.
This was tagged just Italians - going to add two tags - "14 Slovenians," also tagged "Coroneo jail inmates."
