What I've seen of this book has lead me to believe that it is the crowning moment of the "Hey guys! You remember the 80s, right? Back to the Rambo! Teenage Mutant Ninja Transformers!" nostalgia flood that occured over the past 5-10 years.
Taking it as read that I have very little time for all that, is the story good enough for me to overlook it?

God please don't let them butcher this like they did ender's game.

When you think about it there was no chance Ender's game was going to be good. No way to really explain the back story, while it was going to be near impossible to film the fight scenes while explaining the meaning behind the strategy. Too much for an easy movie. It would have been better as an animated project.

Imagine what it must be like for Cline, a true 80's geek who was obviously influenced by Speilberg, to end up having Spielberg direct the film adaptation of his book?
