My peppers have been planted for a couple weeks now and they're going strong. I've got jalapenos, fatalis, and carolina reapers this year.

Sadly my basil looks like it's not going to survive, but I can just buy another one.

I like to wait until the temps rise to plant my pepper seeds. Just to be safe. I’m doing tabasco and bell this year. That’s a coincidence. My basil also failed on the first time this year. I re-sowed and this second group is fine now. My tomato seedlings also failed me, and I’ve had to replant them. However my corn, cucumbers, potatoes, dill weed, purple hulls, and squash are all fine.

I just got mine at a steal this year. A buddy of mine needed to get rid of his so now I have a 20x50 for $300.

I have two growing here in east Texas. Just put them outside. No idea about how to grow peppers, these are probably sacrificial to help me figure out what I'm doing.

I'd suggest transfering to plastic. Those clay pots will dry right out, especially if the plants get bigger. Depending on your space and how big you want them to get, I'd go with a minimum of 3 gallon, or transplant them into the ground.

But don't sacrifice them! Do a search on: how to grow and fertilize hot peppers

shit yea, a pepper thread.

Having a hard time getting pepper seeds to germinate over here -- I've tried both inside and outside. Might work a little better now that it's warming up. Is there a trick to this though that I'm not getting?

Depends on the pepper. Have had Carolina Reapers take 5 weeks to pop. I think the hotter peppers tend to take longer to germinate. Bottom heat helps, but this year I just started them in wet paper towel and some started showing in a week. At that point, move them to your good potting soil and keep them warm.

I’ve had luck with some breeds but not others. Jalapeño and Tabasco tend to be tougher. Those fucking Bell peppers are weak ass little bitches.

This is my first year migrating some of my peppers inside and bringing them back out in spring. Was watching those night time temperatures for weeks waiting for the right time to bring them out. I actually killed a few of them by putting them out for a warm stretch then bringing them back inside for a week or two, my two beautiful Urfa Bibers from the seed exchange were looking good all winter but didn't make it through the final hump. Aji Amarillo, Big Thai, and a standard green bell have made it into their second year however. The only other one on the fence is my Hungarian Black which never got to be a huge plant last year, but when I brought her inside she was producing little peppers for me the whole time, now struggling to start that new growth and may not pull through, guessing there was just no proper dormant phase and I stretched it too far. Got a new generation of bell, hungarian black, and urfa coming up under their big siblings.

Doing it this weekend. Did my herbs and a couple tomatoes in pots a while back but they are mobile so I've been dragging them in and out of the garage for frosts.

This weekend is going to be a much more varied in ground selection.

Ooooh, nice collection. Haven't had the space lately, so have just been buying the CR powder. When I grew the Aji Amarillo, they were super prolific. A great pepper!

hello. im new so please excuse that. i want to plant some chillis, and i did do that last year but i got hit with aphids and that really messed my plants up. largely my fault, i didnt deal with the problem right away and i was too lenient with the little niggers.

but i had a question.. can aphids leave their eggs on chilli seeds? i planted tomatoes and some other stuff using the same dirt: no problems whatsoever.. then i planted some chilli seeds in there and now when i water the dirt/seeds a whole bunch of the little freeloading shitskins come crawling out.

i used the same dirt before, no sign of them. it must be the seeds, at least thats what i think. can any of you enemies of the jew help shed some light on this?

heil hitler and gas all niggers.
