We got lathes and mills that can cut those where I work.

We do too. The problem is we don’t have machines that can add material.

At least it's Aluminum and cheap, Place I work at works primarily with exotic grade materials. I've seen single piece forgings that cost $130,000 go into some of our machines.

Ya i used to machine 36" stainless flanges 4000.00 per blank before machining . We were only allowed 1 scrap per year ( non repairable ) 2 and your out . 46 holes , 26 threaded machined both sides with pockets and counter bores . 2 hr mill time each .

I wish I had scrap allowances. Shop I work in has some guys that work on forgings that cost about 130,000 each. 400 hours of mill work too.

The vertical lathe is 6x6 foot. We have a large horizontal that does 3’ diameter 10 long. And several smaller horizontals.

He's basically asking how big of parts your lathes can turn.

Were these supposed to be gears?

No. They are flanges and nozzles.

I wonder if they would be flanges.

Excellent. Good job, dudes.

There isn't enough material to machine the parts out of these pieces. Essentially they are useless to us.

There has got to be a place to sell them. That or just melt them back down.
