You are right about it being created by someone who wants to build something beautiful. I read a book about Soviet bus stops (weird topic, I know), and it was one of the few areas where artists where allowed some freedom. Often they would craft the stops out of concrete, but it would be shaped so as to reflect local architecture, or a landmark. Seeing how the Russian architects had to beg their (((bolshevik))) masters just to paint a bus stop was disheartening. Hopefully the Russians can bring back their orthodox style.
