For the love of God Robots are a tool, like any other tool it is powerful, when misused someone will get hurt. We have to be educated on how to use the tool properly.

Robots are glorified toasters, we command and control them. Robots and AI are two different things, AI deals with the software coding of things. We are not looking at a terminator scenario yet, hell we cant even get the damn things to open doors without breaking them . Furthermore if you are going to take the powerful force route while going after me on physics strong nuclear force is the most powerful on earth. If you also read my comment instead of skimming it like I know you did you would see that I said to control the AI. We have decades before robotics can even begin to get to the ability to go all terminator on our ass and even if they did we still have things to take them offline like an EMP. we are also more likely to kill ourselves by bad programming which we have already managed to do with a toyota. Robotics will be life changing, almost as life changing as the internet for our generation. We can control it, it is a tool Don't go all neo-luddite on my ass, this can be a bright future but I know we must acknowledge the power behind robotics.
And quit using the damn downvoat button as a disagree button, we ran away from Reddit partly because of that mentality

I'm afraid he's totally off base, although at least he's aware of the profound issue with AI, which is more than I can say for most of you... And he touches on it here:
"The true risk posed by robotics and AI is in how these technologies enable intentional misuse by humans. Just like there is a fine line between nuclear energy and nuclear weapons, these advances in robotics and AI present new and unpredictable opportunities for abuse: deadly military applications, vast expansion of surveillance capabilities, and hacking of these same complex systems for malicious intent. But while we should be cognizant of these risks, and fully prepared for the challenges that come with them, we should never forget the incredible benefits to mankind’s capabilities, efficiency, and enjoyment of life that they will open up."
I think it's much scarier than he apparently believes -- I think it's going to the death of the human race, because of it's incredible ease of use, and awe-inspiring power. Greater than nuclear, far greater.

Well, aren't you just a little ray of sunshine.
