I start fire in living room, turn helmet upside down and fill with water, after boiling long enough to kill bacteria I throw in motor oil and snow melt, then pasta. If done right normal spaghetti will look like squid ink pasta and I can pretend I’m at a gourmet place

Make sure you undercook the motor oil pasta so you can reheat.

It dissolved in oil overnight so it’s a one and done thing

You should really make the water as salty as the ocean. No Olive oil because this prevents the noodles from letting sauce properly stick to it. The timing will differ depending on Elevation from sea level as well as type of pasta. Rule of thumb is to check the doneness of the pasta as it cooks. You want it to be a little more Al dente (if you like a firm noodle which is traditional) than you would like because it will continue to cook once you drain it. Do not rinse the pasta. Let it drain and sit for 3 to 5 minutes before you put anything on it.

The instructions you gave will result in pasta that doesn't heat well the next day and sauce will not adhere as easily or as much. You do what you want but I would suggest attempting this way at least once to see the difference. I used to do things similar to your instructions but I never had consistency nor did I have the sauce stick like it does now.

Pasta doesn't reheat well. Best eaten fresh. Ciao.
