It isn't, not in the sense you infer.
Who told you it was 'safe' to buy groceries, the media?
If you don't grow your own or have supplies laid in against the Storm then you need to eat, so you have to get groceries.
But you do not have to work, many businesses are closed anyhow.
Our business is deemed essential, we've been open all along. But business is way down, we're at maybe 15% of what we were doing because most businesses are closed. I cannot make payroll much longer, have used most of my cash reserves, we're running out of the supplies needed to clean everything after each customer, and my People's nerves are becoming frayed. We may lose everything, and yet I will say....give this another week or so at least, POTUS is moving to open back up but there is a LOT going on.
Let your Faith be stronger than your fears. If you just amble back out will your employer be open? Will you be able to get supplies/stock/equipment? Can you rely on the fact of having help/partners/fellow employees show up to help you? Will the cops even let you out? They will here but I'm in Texas, not everyone can venture out safely.
Just a little bit more Patience, it will serve you well, it will help us all. Like I said, I may lose it all, we are All In, but please let this play another short week.

POTUS mentioned Easter, a while back. Give it that long and rethink it maybe. Not everyone can just head out - work won't be there for them, like restaurants or hair salons, merchants in malls and shopping centers.

Great, and that is how America does this. I get out to buy take-out, trying to help small biz, that's a risk we all must take. We shop some for others, we could ride 3 months or longer on what we keep in supplies but not everyone can.
Because of the nature of our business we have proper masks and PPE, but I like to walk in some places in my cycle gear, full face helmet, gloves, no skin showing. We live out in the boonies so social distancing is just everyday for us.
Keep the Faith, we got this, the world is fixing to change.
Well, for me, I'd rather be working from home. If a virus is going around, it's not smart to be commuting everyday on a packed bus.
However, even before this thing started I was bothering my boss about it. Everything we do is on our laptops so I'd rather be at home to also take care of my kids while my wife can go work as well (daycare). Boss always said it was the higher ups that wanted us on-site but now they are theorizing what comes after we get the all clear. This might have all worked out great for me :)

How does a nation fight an asymmetric war against unknown embedded lone actors? You remove the targets. No schools, no malls, no airplanes, no sporting events, no groups of people more than 10. Sit tight, honey buns. It will be over soon.
