Or the numbers being reported are total BS. I have no confidence in what is being officially reported. No idea if it’s much worse or much better...or something all together different than what the narrative is.

Not really. They may be anointing the sick/giving last rites and therefore exposing themselves to the virus at a higher rate than the general population.

Not really what? disproportionate = at a higher rate

The question is why the higher prevalence? Your explanation is certainly one possibility.

Another is that the virus may be being used a cover story, for incarceration of some of those priests. The better to conceal the first wave of The Storm.

I take issue with "quite disproportionately high" because there is a simple and obvious explanation and the way you've written it implies that the numbers are shocking and unexpected. Italian dioceses surrounding Milan reported the deaths of 30 priests which is seems high at first but on closer inspection all but 3 were over 70 and more than half over 80. Much higher than the general population and of an age that Italian doctors decline to treat. When one considers the general activities of a priest and couples it with their older age group, there is nothing surprising here.

I just see horses, not zebras.

They might see a lot more sick old folks than the average person, especially in times of contagion.

True. Or cross infect each other.
