My Mom has had a saying,on her refridgerator since we were kids.

It says: "God, grant me patience....but hurry!"

Kek

Seriously though...our fight,isn't with our family, friends and neighbors...its with the Evil that has controlled many in our mists. Those have been corrupted with no way out. The only way out is within.

Trust in God!

Kinda difficult to refrain from anger.

Every day is a new outrage.

Better hurry up.

Our church just had an e-service (Facebook live) and the text for the sermon was Psalm 5. This part of David's prayer is what I'm meditating on:

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;

evil may not dwell with you.

5

The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;

you hate all evildoers.

6

You destroy those who speak lies;

the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

7

But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love,

will enter your house.

I will bow down toward your holy temple

in the fear of you.

8

Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness

because of my enemies;

make your way straight before me.

David's prayer is for the Lord himself to take vengeance and judge his enemies. David, by contrast, does not appeal to his own righteousness to win favor with God but "through the abundance of Your steadfast love will entr your house" Another Old Testament clue that the righteous one Christ is needed for our salvation and surety!

And then also David prays "Lead me, O Lord, in YOUR righteouesness" - again pleading for God to give David what he lacks...

"because of my enemies" - because the temptation to follow after the pattern of the wicked is very real, so the Lord needs to make our ways straight.

Powerful prayer, and I think relevant at this time. We can call on God and request that he judge the powers and institutions, to bring any down that stand against righteousness and good. But we are in no place to call on God to judge our enemies by name out of a vindictive spirit... rather it's more beneficial to pray for God to "lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" We must focus on guarding our own hearts and ways at this time. And place all our trust in the Righteous One who took the guild and burden of human sin in our place...
