Please be a bit more nuanced. Yes, child mortality was higher, but that’s also a big part of why the average lifespan was so low.
If you remove all the early dying kids, you will see that the average lifespan wasn’t that different.
Just because reduced child mortality is a good thing, doesn’t mean that everything else is.
Perhaps you should educate yourself within statistics and what exactly reduced child mortality. Was it the great big pharma, or something else?

Women dying in their teens and 20s during childbirth is a big factor too.
