There are other diseases that just don't affect children the way they do adults; that's thankfully not a new thing.
You could look into why that's the case for
those're the two I know off the top of my head.

You never been around kids? They are notorious asymptomatic carriers for everything.
They have very angry immune systems that react to everything because the body is still in training mode. They constantly get lots off cooties but their bodies will fight it off as long as they are well fed usually.

Vitamin D supports immunity, but I'm not so sure the average kid gets much of it in the US or Canada these days. They tend to play indoors a lot with electronics, especially in the winter. I am hoping that higher rates of vitamin D from summer sunshine, along with temperature and humidity increases, will help us fight the virus. Time will tell. We take vitamin D3 in the winter. I hope it helps.
