Peter is not the Rock, he is stone.
“There is no one holy like the Lord;
there is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God." - 1 Samuel 2:2
The word used for Peter was Petros, which means stone, NOT rock. The word used for Rock was Petra, which means large rock.
Peter is stone, NOT the rock.
"Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
John 6:35
"Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?" -Matthew 7:9
Peter was to reject Jesus 3 times before the rooster crows.
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." - 2 Peter 3:8
Jesus Himself told Peter he was worthy, He washed his feet. Peter claimed to be unworthy though and wanted to be crucified upside down. Why didn't he accept that Jesus made him clean?
If you're Catholic and cross yourself, do it in a mirror and look. It's an upside down cross.
The deception started immediately.

I am Catholic. I cross myself in memory of Jesus and not of Peter.
I do not 'pray in a mirror', when outside of church I pray in solitude as instructed in Matthew Chapter 6. The focal point in my Church is the Cross. I 'look in that'.
Peter claimed to be unworthy though and wanted to be crucified upside down
Andrew wanted to be crucified on a cross tipped on its side as depicted in the Scottish flag (St. Andrew's cross). 11/12 Disciples were made martyrs. Each could have avoided death if they relinquished their faith.
The deception started immediately.
I agree, but for different reasons. Thanks to the Catholic Church many deceptions were removed from Church teaching.
I am not trying to convert anybody to Catholicism, I am simply defending my Church. I have said many times before; If you recognise the Trinity then I regard you as part of my family in Christ.
Thanks for your arguments.

Do it in front of a mirror once and and look. It's an upside down cross.
That's symbolic of Peter, not Jesus.
What about your prayers IN the church? What about hail Mary's?
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
You're deceived. The catholic church teaches deception.
It is the mother of prostitutes and abominations. She says in her heart "I sit enthroned as queen. I will never mourn."
God is about to show you.
God Bless.

And yet from Paul's first person writing in his epistles, we know that it was the brother of Jesus, James that was the leader of the Christ-followers church of Jeresualem and that Peter was subordinate to James's authority. James being the leader of the first Christian church is multi-attested to from other sources as well.
The whole thing of attempting to position Peter as the top leader is an artificial manipulation of what was the actual historical reality

Pay close attention to the language used in Matt 16. Jesus is drawing a contrast between Peter (small rock) vs Petra (foundation stone). Jesus is saying, you are A small stone, but on this foundation stone I will build my church. What is that foundation stone? 1 Cor 10:4. Christ is the foundation, not any man. Scripture is filled with references to a Rock. And that is almost universally applied to God, not any man.

My friend, I am not your enemy and wish not to attack. You are my brother/sister in Christ.
100%.
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
Luke 18:19
A small stone - is a huge statement to a Man.
I urge you to refrain from attacking any Trinitarian church.
United we stand.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
