I've done some knife throwing. It's a lot like golf. To get any good at it you have to practice frequently and continuously.
I also had a karate instructor who liked to lob rubber ninja throwing stars at the students. They are surprisingly hard to avoid:)

I find it amazingly like pitching. As in, being a baseball pitcher. Obviously like have the exact same goal. Just like in baseball, there are different ball throws. Curve ball, fast ball and so on. What makes them different is the release. Exact same as knife throwing.

Well we have guns now, unless some dude has the armstrength of Beowulf I can't see any knife snipers in the future.

It really is. There is easily etching towards art. Plus, its SATISFYING There are othere styles of throwing. Xolette on YT has amazing info, even teaching her 3yr old.

I would get drunk and throw some knives. Then like all things I would probably obsess about it for 6 months, and then set it aside

I do the same thing. Archery, hunting, fishing, music... I lose interest and move on after only a few months.
