I find these cases a win win for POTUS. If he wins he establishes precedent. If he loses he has spotlighted the need for legislative reform.

I don't think he'd take this on without a strong chance of winning, but who knows.

I think you are right...my bet is that there is communication showing that the news agencies knew they were lying and that the lies were coordinated . discovery is what going to be a problem for the news agencies.

Dont know if this is a ‘proof’ but interesting reference to voice-of-God technology , CNN set up, leakers.

I don’t remember which shooter this one was. Maybe Parkland.

It does say libel suits will be the end of the MSM

2020-03-06 | Trump campaign files defamation suit against CNN | TheHill

' "The campaign was motivated by the fact that the publications recklessly published false statements which caused harm and intentionally mislead their readers."'

'The Supreme Court has ruled that public officials suing for defamation must prove that any false statements made about them were backed by "actual malice."'

'Further, the campaign, through counsel, sent a written demand to CNN on February 25, 2020 to retract and apologize for the false and defamatory statements."'

'"The statements were and are 100 percent false and defamatory," Jenna Ellis, a legal adviser for the campaign, said in a statement. '

'"CNN refused, so the campaign was left with no alternative but to file suit to publicly establish the truth and seek appropriate remedies," Ellis added. '
