I will never use PayPal again EVER. They froze my account and stole my money about 6 years ago. Fortunately it was less than 50 bucks. They were one of the first to cut off services for people or small traders deemed guilty of wrongthink. Especially small traders selling natural health supplements. They're in bed with big pharma. It's a faceless company for which you can't find any phone number or address. The most annoying part was that they refused to close my account. They literally would not interact with me unless I agreed to their (new) terms and conditions, which I refused to do - that was why I wanted to close my account, because I didn't agree with the revised t &c. They are above the law,.like most corporations.

Hate that you had to go through their bullshit like that. What are you using now? I use PP and Cash app. Would like to dump Paypal but it's used everywhere and very few people I know use Cash App. They definitely have a grip on the masses. Cash App is fast as fuck , btw.

IDK about skimming, but they definitely earn interest in any money you have.

Pay Pal scammed me out of money when I was selling some stuff online a while back. I deleted my account and never returned. Switch to dash, ltc, bitcoin, etc... then exchange it for whatever currency you use in your bank account. If you wait and hold it for a small time you can actually have more money.

It's hard to find large online markets that integrate those payment systems. Not to mention resigning yourself to those is resigning the amount of total business you'll ever be able to do just because of how many people don't know anything about that stuff. As usual, criminals have the monopoly and it doesn't look like anyone's even trying to hold them accountable for anything.

Yeah amazon and others need to allow it but for now there are ways around it but it's up to the buyer to use it.

Otherwise it's as simple as saying: Here's my btc address and people send money to it on your own website.

Essentially new tech will built on top of the old tech (already happening) and eventually the new tech will replace the old tech. This is what is happening. It doesn't happen over night but it will happen. Moon is an example of this. We have a long way to go but when it happens it will seem like it happened in a blink of an eye.

I bet a lot of people on voat remember VHS tapes. Nobody thought those VHS stores would go out of business and people would just stream videos online. It's coming.

Bitcoin is going to take a severe dip soon. It just got back to 9K yesterday. It's headed towards another crash soon. The only way to make money is with shorting.

I was hopeful about Bitcoin but still had that nagging feeling I was falling for a scam. Cashless society is what Bitcoin is all about. The internet of things and tracking everything you do. Bitcoin is going to be part of that. Check out Amazing Polly's vid on the subject. She may be dead wrong but if she is just a little bit right, I don't want any part of it.

It's possible. Time will tell. Shorting is a great way to make money. I like the alts though because you can use less and make more money. Namely Orchid.

I have seen a few other threads lately about this exact thing. I bet they are....

That's what I was wondering. I'm sure if this is happening then I'm not the only one to notice. I wasn't going to say anything initially either, because there's not a whole lot of alternatives anyway.

You don't happen to remember where you've seen similar complaints lately do you?

I think on reddit just a few days ago in /personalfinance I saw this exact thread where folks accounts wern't balancing, then a few days later they majically are.

I suspect paypal is syphoning off monies only for a short time, and then synching them back up.

I remember an old comptroller friend of mine at a small company (50 employees) would take all the accounts from the day (companies monies, bill monies, shipping monies, salary monies) which were all in seperate accounts, merge them and invest them overnight in stocks and bonds, then cash out int he morning and re-syncch the accounts for the day. Would make millions for the company over the year doing this everyday.. Turns out, if a fairly standard practice in US business to do this.

I made a decision to never use PayPal, way back over ten years ago when they started freezing people's accounts for no reason, and refusing to give them their own money.

Yeah they did that to me.

The better question is why put a face-hugger between you and your money.

It inserted itself into the chain between me and very large online markets.
