a state militia is an oxymoron. Militias by definition are non paid, unprofessional soldiers. If youre required to register and work under the command of a government you are no longer a militia. The militia portion of the 2nd amendment exists to protect gun owners rights to organize and train in independent groups. It goes further to unnecessarily add that militias are necessary to the security of a free State. Learn a fucking word educators.

Yeah, I used to be confused about how rag-tag bands could win wars vs much stronger powers. Now, not so much.

unprofessional soldiers.

That's the only point I would argue is up for debate with your comment. They still encourage people to train up with military tactics or at least thats what I gathered from the term "regulated civilian militia"

The militia part of the 2nd also protects individuals not associated with any group. They are still potential future militia members.

If the call for a militia goes out in a time of crisis, you want citizenry able to take up the fight/enforce security who are familiar with the weapons which they must use immediately in the emergency- you can't pause and train when it is time to fight.

Would be super handy if they could bring their own guns and ammo too.

This is why you must teach the young that being armed isn't unusual, that it's part of being an American, and what responsible adults do.

Separation of church and state for the 1st isn't there either.

It is. Last line:

Congress may not favour one religion over another (separation of church and state)

Granted that's the supreme court interpretation rather than the actual text, but it's still there at least.

10 U.S.C. § 311 Militia:  composition and classes

The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age

Whoa, what's with the sexist book there? Are you saying women who are totally equal to men in all ways can't have guns?

No, women can have guns. The right of self defense is an inate human right.

Spics, Niggers, and Jews on the other hand, are subhumans, and should not be permitted to have firearms because they are untrustworthy and prone to mental illness and violent outbursts.

Yeah, that keeps being ignored - rights aren't "granted" by the Bill of Rights. These were rights that exist to all people regardless of any document. Madison just knew that things were going to go off the rails eventually, and we better get a few of the most important ones listed.

"Well-regulated" in those days meant "expertly practiced." The Federalist Papers tell us the exact intent of the wording of the Second Amendment, which is to ensure that the People are allowed to possess firearms, in order that they will be familiar with their use and operation in the event of an armed conflict, and to allow the People to enforce the Constitution even on members of the government if necessary, by popular revolt.

This very idea is still encoded into US military, isn't it? (Swearing to constitution vs head of state) and being allowed to ignore unconstitutional orders?

There they go again twisting it.

  • The 2nd Amendment acknowledges that a well regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free State.
  • It also says the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed by the government.

It's SIMPLE!!!!

And yet they always twist these two points in the 2A as though the militia is an exclusive government-ordained group and that the right to not infringe is conditional that there is a government-ordained militia. Nowhere is this written. This kind of psychological mental gymnastics is insane.

Also I need to point out, the 2nd Amendment doesn't grant us the right to bear arms. The 2nd Amendment tells government not to infringe on our right to bear arms!!! It's a law restricting the government that essentially tells them to fuck off!!!

And the people are the militia. Do those fegs really think the government had to permit itself to use arms in the military? Of course they do, but that's why their down syndrome assworm arguments don't hold up to critical thinking.

Having your children in the public school system is like leaving them with the enemy to be trained for 8 hours every single day. By the time they graduate high school they will be fully indoctrinated in many cases.
