McAfee disclosed the research to Tesla and MobilEye EyeQ3, the company that provides the Tesla 2016 models with their camera systems, last year.

MobilEye EyeQ3 dismissed the research.

Tesla's newer models use proprietary cameras, and MobilEye EyeQ3 has released newer versions of its cameras that McAfee tested and said were not fooled by the modified sign.

For those unconvinced that 'input only modification' constitutes 'hacking', the above paragraphs indicate that a change of cameras (hardware/firmware/software) solves the issue, thus proving the point that the previous version was 'hacked'.

We aren't talking about 'simple' cameras that only take pictures. It's the ML/AI firmware/software behind them that is in question. For a similar problem regarding 'input only modifications', please see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL_injection

These self driving cars are not going to work out to well. Once a few families and a dozen or so children are killed the lawsuits will put them out of business.

Why the fuck does a speed-hold mode even need cameras or GPS? What the fuck is wrong with "See the speed I'm doing RIGHT NOW? Keep it at that"?
