Professional competitive video games.
"Meta" just means "strong given the way the game is balanced and currently played". The "meta" changes when a player develops a new strategy, and if a strategy is too strong sometimes the game is changed to prevent it. Same thing happens in physical sports, look up the "flying wedge" from early days american football. TL;DR: It was so strong they changed the rules so you couldn't do it.
It's kinda disappointing that it appears women may be worse at video games than men too. One would imagine it might narrow the field since it isn't physical labour, it's arguably dexterity (the first typists were women, because it was assumed they'd be better at it). And streaming or playing a nightly scrim for the occasional competition is a good sort of work for a mum. It's stuff you can do while staying at home, and where the world doesn't end if you break to take care of your child.
