The opposite holds true as well: if you talk a lot, people don't listen and figure you're dumb. I use this to my advantage, I talk all the time about all kinds of things and most people don't take anything I say seriously. Some people do, but that is because they know better. There is no call for the general public to be aware of your intelligence level, I think. If you really are smart, everyone resents you for it. So I talk plenty of nonsense so no one listens. It works.

Maybe you need to learn to converse about interesting topics then. I don't speak much, but that's because I usually don't care about what's being said. Conversation for its own sake is pointless

maybe but i'm not necessarily talking about stuff that's happened to me, just the whole "silent sensei" thing is just gay to me
