The government responded "we completely agree, you're absolutely correct, we'll do just that."
Then reinterpreted the ruling secretly to mean that she'd authorized unlimited warrants.

NSA is already shifting the onus of maintaining user's data to private companies. This bypasses the warrant requirement, since you're signing away your right to privacy in user agreements.

the head of new scotland yard resigned over the 'phone hacking' scandal. they can find excuses not to need warrants very easily these days.
