I don't understand the universally accepted daughter bashing.

Everyone does it, and they wonder why women are so fucked up in our society. I find it not only distasteful, but down right revolting that someone would joke about their unborn offspring in such open disgust.

I'd be happy with another girl, it would just be nice to have one of each, especially to give my husband a son and carry on the family name as his dad has 3 granddaughters, and no grandsons yet. A girl would be cheaper though, as no son of mine will wear pink dresses.

Also the joke was voat specific as "I'm pregnant" threads are always filled with "don't circumcise if it's a boy" "is it white?" and "don't send to public school" comments.

I'm Australian so it's part of my culture to joke about everything. I don't think it's "daughter bashing".

Women are fucked up for a lot of reasons, but protecting them of ever being the butt of a joke adds to that more than prevents it in my opinion.

Congratulations!

As for a name, go back through you and your husband's heritage, as far back as you can, and pick something that sounds nice, has an interesting meaning, and reflects your traditional values.

Or you can not and be proud of where you currently live.

"American" or "Canadian" name

Congratulations!!! We're going to start trying for number two in March, mainly to avoid giving birth during hunting season. ALL the guys down at the plant take vacations then and they're short staffed. My husband doesn't want that pressure on him to get back to work, especially if I have to have a repeat c-section.

Good luck, for both getting pregnant and getting a convenient due date!

It took months and months of trying for me; damn lactational amenorrhea was really strong.

I was lucky I didn't get pregnant at twelve weeks post partum. I was relying on it but my cycles started again anyway. We've waited eighteen months because I don't want a repeat c-section. Going with a different doctor and hospital next time.
