Hdr is color related. It is mainly used to create blooming and exposure effects. It has as much to do with the resolution as the audio or even toast darkness settings in your toaster.
Okay cool because i like the way it looks with HDR off better but i still want it in 4k. Are you familiar with the PlayStation 4? You know if I should have my RGB set on limited or full? Can't find a definitive answer on that and I use a TV as my monitor.

Not sure what the setting does. It might be feeding a "hot" signal so TVs can render the effects.
