Considering democrats are right in cadence with them, I think its safe to say that everyone has been slowly going insane, and it's been going on far longer.

Tapping into the anger of those who see the nation going down a crazy and illogical path of progressive liberalism. It really doesn't matter what he says, that he is outside the DC establishment, talks straight and doesn't take their shit is reason enough for many. Oddly, he and Bernie seem to be the only genuine candidates out there.

Paul can't stand it that a non-politician is beating him in the polls. No, we're not all crazy, Rand.

Exactly, Trump is only intruding into the political process as a pubilicity stunt to enhance the value of his own corporate brand and not to build a fence, but instead to build a large fanatical base that will follow him on Twitter, and that will buy any product that he adds his name too.

The guy is really analytical, literate, intelligent, seems more committed to justice, speaks to Blacks and Latinos in a matter that is the opposite of Obama (i.e. Not divisive), and he appears sincerely against government regulation, surveillance, and overreach.
I doubt he will get elected anytime soon though, but he is shaping a different narrative and he may be more electable at some point in the future.
P.S. I have edited the post to make it clear that I was referring to Rand Paul and not Trump, I thought that it was clear, but perhaps it was not.
