For PC games you guys might want to check this site out http://isthereanydeal.com/ Just type the name of the game you want then hit enter. You can even import your Steam wishlist which is handy.

Steam and Humble Bundle for the most part. Wii games come from Amazon or eBay if I want them

Kickass Torrent, it's my only choice from where I come from.

Steam, G2A or Kinguin for PC games. I usually try to get whatever at a discount. Gamestop/Walmart for everything else (namely 3DS games), but really only because they're the closest places (same plaza).

Usually on the psn/xbox store digitally. If it's a game I'm really looking forward too like phantom pain I'll get it at gamestop, preorder and all. For older gen games I'll go too amazon.

Steam. If its not there I pirate it it. It's been a minute since I have pirated anything. DeathTrack ][ Resuraction might have been the last thing... Then it hit steam and I bough it. Once in a while if I see a stray retroware disk in the wild I will buy it. Not very often tho... Hmm... Also bought Bad Day In LA and Evil Dead Regeneration from Amazon...

PC games: Mostly Steam, but if IsThereAnyDeal shows a better price somewhere else than I'll buy it there.

Console games: My local Gamestop, unless the game's sold out in which case I buy it from said console's online store. This actually happened to me with Pikmin 3.

Steam and only Steam.

That's why the thought of Steam ever getting shut down gives me nightmares.
